The Road to Happiness

Cast out from her home beneath the sea, Lau is used to a life of isolation and sadness, having long lost hope of ever returning home. When two pirate captains ask for her help with finding a key that can only be retrieved by a mermaid, she agrees, under the condition that she will receive the potion of eternal happiness said to be among the treasures and finally return home. As the journey goes on, Lau realises she might not need the potion to be happy, but accepting that would mean losing the chance to ever return home.

Freylin has had her eyes on the treasure of Nöck the Joyful for years – a treasure with which she will be able to provide for her parents until their death, and that would finally give her the respect in the pirate world she so deeply desires.

With the help of a mermaid Freylin can’t take her eyes off of, she finds the key to the treasure, and so begins a race against time. The other pirate lords are hot on their heels, determined to steal the legendary treasure, no matter the cost. But what if finding the treasure means losing the mermaid she has come to love?
